You’ve likely heard the parable that if you place a frog in a pot of boiling water, it will immediately jump out. Whereas if you place a frog in a pot of cool water and then slowly bring the water to a boil, the frog will not sense the gradual change in its condition and will eventually be cooked to death.
So, what does this have to do with dentistry?
Well…I chose to share this story because of what’s happening to a lot of dentists out there right now.
The industry is changing. And the temperature around most private practice dentists is gradually, and steadily, increasing. More competition. Lower reimbursements. Delayed treatments. Less new patients. You may not notice the change on a day-to-day basis, but I bet if you look back at your year-over-year numbers for the past few years….it’s right there….and it’s all too clear!
It’s easy to think….”things will change” or “next month will be better”….or to just simply ignore the problem all together. But, all you’re really doing….is just delaying the inevitable.
The heat is only going to continue rising in this industry. Don’t wait until it’s too late!
I’ve talked to several dentists, just in the past week alone, who have said they can’t afford to invest in their marketing because they don’t have enough free cash flow. At that point…you’re basically cooked!
Don’t let this happen to you. Marketing is an investment in your future. One you need to make….especially when things are heating up!
Don’t delay! Jump out of that hot water now before it starts to boil!
